Our Mission Statement:
The Southlake Women’s Club, Inc. is a flourishing organization committed to provide community support and involvement through active participation and service, charitable contributions, grants, and special events, as well as to cultivate friendship and fellowship through social, educational and business gatherings.
The Southlake Women’s Club, Inc. was established in 1985 by six ladies who, in an effort to meet other ladies in Southlake posted flyers inviting women to a get acquainted coffee. Forty women attended that first gathering over 20 years ago, and laid the foundation of what make the Southlake Women’s Club what it is today.
In the beginning, the primary goal of the club was to offer fellowship for the ladies of Southlake; but quickly grew into a desire to become involved in the community. This legacy of pride in community has been passed on to the current membership. The Southlake Women’s Club, Inc. is a non-profit organization responsible for pioneering several successful fundraising events that have helped fund the needs of the community over the years. These fundraisers started quite simply but quickly grew. The annual School Supply Sale has generated over $300,000 which has purchased materials for grades K-8 necessary to enrich the curriculum for students and funded school supplies for students needing assistance. In the spring of 2000 the club hosted a new community event and Art in the Square was born. In the eight years that SWC has hosted this event over $1,000,000 has been raised for local charities. Art in the Square has become a much anticipated event for the community and surrounding areas! It takes place at the Southlake Town Square every year on the last weekend in April. Another highly anticipated event we host is the annual Valentine Luncheon for our local Senior Citizens. The fundraising events, along with the SWC community outreach actions, social events, and the scholarship program make the Southlake Women’s Club a unique and worthwhile organization.
The Southlake Women’s Club meets on the second Thursday of every month at White’s Chapel Methodist Church in Southlake. Our meetings are open to guests and we encourage our members to invite their family, friends and neighbors who are interested in learning more about the club. We have many social events throughout the year for members to get acquainted with one another and promote fellowship. All of our social events and meetings appear on the events calendar under Programs.
